Buffalo vs Harddisk+external case 邊個好？

I have a few Buffalo Turbo USB 500GB external hard disk, for computer data backup, for HD TV Set Top Box TV recording for Magic TV, for Eight, ... I have the old version of Buffalo (with on/off switch) and also the new model (without on/off switch). After purchased from the shop, just plug the power cable and USB cable, no need to install anything and use screw driver. The drive is also very quiet. I like it very much. Many of my friends also use Buffalo (because I always tell them I like Buffalo). So far no problem at all. Very happy.

是啊，我知道舊款的有開關掣，不明白為何新款的沒有此功能，有開關掣更「自主」嘛。有一款500GB有開關掣，但索價千多元，太貴了。我問過sales哥哥其他牌子的有沒有開關掣，但是都沒有。
如果我以拖板上的開關掣當作機上的開關掣使用，會不會損壞硬碟機呢？
