Need help with grammar

I need some help with my English grammar homework:
Proofread the sentences and make the necessary corrections. (etc. quotation, punctuation, capitalization, and misspelled words.)

1. Carlos replyed, we're supposed to read an iroquois myth write a poem and studying for a spelling test.
2. "Song of Sky Loom" is an apparently simple yet truely complex poem that espresses peoples longing to be as pure as the natural world.
3. If we could really understand in what sence our mother is the earth and our father is the sky, than we would be more respectfull of nature.
4. many native american cultures have there own versions of Coyote Storys.
5. Coyote and the buffalo is a story that is funny entertaining and it is scary.
6. Having died in the Spring, Momaday returned to Rainy mountain in july to mourn his grandmother.
7. If I remember correct, that were a beutiful story of a man who cared deeply for his ancesturs and so returned to the land where he was born at.
8. Of Plymouth plantation a book by William Bradford describes the experiences of the pilgrim settlers in north America.
9. The settlers of the new land was further from home than theyd ever been before and they faced many challenges.
10. "Ava did you know that Olaudah Equiano grew up in west Africa, in a village called essaka"? Roger asked.
11. My sojourn in the Lands of my Ancestors is from Maya Angelous book "All Gods Children need Traveling Shoes."
12. Angelous has been a dancer, writer and actress and singer she read her poem "on the Pulse of Morning" at president Clinton's inauguration.
13. Members of Cabeza de Vacas group sailed in ships, rode horseback, foot travel, and drifting in barges before finally reaching Mexico city.

3. If we could figuratively understand that the earth is our mother, and the sky is our father, then we would be more respectful of nature. <---- than is a comparitive adjective, so you shouldn't be using it as a conjunction. also don't make your mom the earth, careful of your comparisons. xDD
4. Many Native American cultures have their own versions of "Coyote Stories".
5. "Coyote and the Buffalo" is a story that is funny, entertaining and scary.
6. Momaday returned to Rainy Mountain in July to mourn for his grandmother who died in spring. <--- his grandma died, not him!
