phonics是甚麼？

Hi,

Phonics offers beginning readers the strategies they need to sound out words.
For example, they learn that the letter D has the sound of "d" as in "doll."
Then they learn how to blend letter sounds together to make words like "dog". It's
not as easy as it sounds, because the 26 letters in our alphabet correspond
to 44 sounds. When your kids have mastered it, this knowledge helps them
read familiar words at an appropriate pace, and gives them the ability to
decode

and spell words they have not seen before.
