Calculate the pH of concentrated hydrochloric acid if this solution is 27.1 % HCl by weight and has a density of 1.17 g/mL.

27.1 x 1170 g/L / 100 = 317.07 g/L of HCl in this solution

317.07 g/L / 36.461 g/mol =8.70 M

pH = - log 8.70 = - 0.94

Wouldn't you just do (1.19g / mL) x (270.4 mL) and then the mL would cancel out leaving you with 322 g of the acid? [because of sigfigs]
