x^2 + (k-2)x--(k-1)=0
M and N are the roots of the above equation. If /M/ = /N/ (absolute values) find k.
更新1:

why we use sum of roots in M=-N while using D=0 in M=N? Are there any alternative ways for M=-N? Whats the relationship between M=-N and sum of roots? Can i use sum of roots for M=N?

When M=N,
△=0
(k-2)2 -4(1)[-(k-1)]=0
(k2-4k+4)+4k-4=0
k2=0
k=0
When M=-N,
Sum of roots=-(k+2)
0=-(k+2)
k=-2
