she was misleading the public ( fooling us , making us believe something untrue, misleading us to the wrong direction.)

It means "it has of two contradictory members or parts "

3) One swallow makes a summer( idiom)

The original idiom runs " One swallow does not make a summer"
which is the opposite of what you asked for .


4) Short-sighted ( adjective) used for one's eye sight.
This adjective can be used to describe people who lack foresight as well.
