Hi,
" have/has been past participle" is used for present perfect continous tense.
We use this tense to show that we started doing something or something started happening in the past and the action is still going on UNTIL NOW.
They, we , you and I ======= have been pp
He, she and it ============= has been pp
Examples:
1) May has been singing since 8pm.( May started doing something( singing) at 8pm and she is singing now ) <-------The action is going on non-stop since
8pm.
2)I have been doing my homework since noon.( I started doing my homework
at noon and up to now I am still doing it. )<---------Same as above
3) It has been raining since my mother left home.
( When your mom left home , it started raining and up to NOW it is still raining.)
was/were pp ( past tense in passive voice)
He, she ,it and I <--- followed by " was"
They , we and you<----------- followed by " were".
Example:
My dog was killed last Monday. ( Your dog did not kill anyone or anything.
He WAS killed ( <------ passive voice by someone) last Monday.
"last Monday" refers to " the past tense".
" had been past participle" is used for past perfect continuous tense.( We use this
tense to show a going-on action that took place some time in the past and you were still doing it at that time .過去某一時間以前已經開始而到那時還正在進行的動作或狀態
Note:
No matter what kinds of pronouns you use , you just have to use" had been pp" in this tense because it is a kind of PAST tense.
Have/has ( present tense ) ---------> had( past tense)
Example:
I had been doing my homework for two hours when he
visited me yesterday. ( you started doing your homework at a certain time yesterday and you kept doing it non-stop and when he visited you, you were still doing it.)
That's it.
Hope you get what I mean.
Until then, ciao.
