早前我朋友的電單東被賊人偷竊
約一天後，發現後已經馬上去報警處理
約過了一天，還是兩天多，
賊人撞車，並棄車而逃
警方後通知我的朋友去認領電單車
可是，電單東已被撞爛
警方初步已錄了口供，拿走了証物等事項
我想問，如果警方能捉到賊人，能否要求賠償維修費？
如果可以，可以怎樣跟進，或需要怎樣的程序？
如要求的賠償費用可能不超過一萬，另外請律師是否支出更大？
這些情況可以去法律援助處尋求協助嗎？

1. 如果買了全保，一切都可交由保險公司代勞。2. 如果只買了第三保，你就要自己動手。
程序：
1. 等個賊被裁定有買。
2. 通知個賊賠償。
3. 如被拒或對方表示無錢，就要去小額錢債審裁署。
4. 如對方不按審裁署判決賠償，一係坐錢債監，一係申請破產。
請律師要花幾千元，不值得。法律援助處也不會受理。

I think your friend should first call his car insurance agent and explain. It maybe that your friend can claim car insurance.
However if your friend wants to get compensation through the Court, he can try go to local district office to see a on duty lawyer (I think there is one in every district office) to get free legal advice. After that he can decide whether to sue through civil lawsuit or not.
Whatever he does, I suggest he call car insurance agent first. I'm sure his car insurance will cover some or maybe all of the damages arising from theft of vehicle.
