a million) subtract 2x from each and every bit to eliminate the 2x's on the ends leaves you with -a million < x+5 < 7 2) subtract 5 from each and every bit to eliminate the 5 interior the midsection. leave you with -6 < x < 2 you're fixing for x (attempting to get it "on its very own")

2 < 2x - 5 < 7
2 + 5 < 2x < 7 + 5
7 < 2x < 12
7/2 < x < 12/2
3.5 < x < 6

2 < 2x - 5 < 7
+5 +5 +5
7 < 2x < 12
Divide by 2
3.5 < x < 6

2 < 2x - 5
7 < 2x
3.5 < x

2x -5 < 7
2x < 12
x < 6

So, 3.5 < x < 6

3.5 < x < 6

make a line graph.

i think. im pretty sure.

3.5 < x < 6

Its a linear graph (line segment) from (on a coordinate plane) [3.5,2] to [6,7]

Add 5 to both sides divide by 2. Simple nuff. The graph is just a number line, with x defined where it says. Try reading your book next time too, its much better to learn it yourself than have someone answer it for you.
