What Rat treats and food. ?

Basic food- Harlan Tekland 2014 or 2018. Oxbow Regal Rat. Pet rats that aren't breeding (please don't breed) need very little protein and cannot digest corn.

my rats love yogurt, but it's terrible for them, so they get a tiny, tiny bit about once a week.

Nothing high in fat or sugar
No carbonated drinks
No chocolate
No bleu cheese
Nothing you wouldn't eat
Peanut Butter is high in fat, and can stick to the roof of their mouths, causing them to choke
No orange juice
Look up the safety of new foods before giving them to your rats

I just got a baby female (phoebe) a couple of days ago and im getting one of her sisters today so far they absoloutly LOVE cheerios , they are like little kids they like the sweet junk foods over healthy foods anytime they are really funny great pets good luck

God tell me something they don't like, mine have everything we have everyday when I dish up our tea they have exactly the same on their own plate they are like a herd of elephants coming down to the bottom level every morning when I go in with the porridge they'll do anything for porridge, six pairs of hands grab the plate and drag it in lol as long as you are careful i.e not bad foods or to fatty you can try everything, watch em they stare you out till you give em some of your chinese takeaway. and if the cage door is open they just come and rob it off your plate.

DO NOT FEED YOUR RATS AVOCADOS, CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER, CARBONATED DRINKS, ANY UNRIPENED FRUIT.
my rats love sharp cheddar cheese, apples, grapes, red peppers, and blueberries. give them if any unsalted peanuts only once a week though because there is so much protein they can get lumps like tumors and cysts. yup. i give them oxbow regal rat food.

THE PERSON BEFORE ME SAID THEY SPREAD DISEASE. TOTALLY UNTRUE. WILD rats spread disease SOMETIMES but only if they have certain mites or fleas. so definetely GET RATS THEY R AWESOME.

We feed our ratties a mixture of low fat, low protein dog food with mazuri lab blocks as their staple diet. They also get a grain mix after sue bee's rat diet that they get in the evening. We give them fresh fruits and veggies when we have them available. They love raisins, non salted sunflower and pumpkin seeds, banana chips, whole grain crackers, etc. Here is an article I found...

They are rats. They eat anything. I guess they like cheese the best. Don't feed meat or they will want to eat you.

they basically eats everything. (what are you getting rats? They spread disease)
