Small dog recommendations?

The Miniature Pinscher, is known as "The King of the Toys" They have sense of humour, terrific energy, and are very courageous. MinPins are very eager to learn and do well in training. If given the chance this little dog will escape from his area so fences are a must!

The MinPin is a tough looking little dog, who is proud, and courageous. They are extremely loyal with a large amount of energy. They are good with other pets and children so long as the humans show leadership towards the dog.

MinPins are about 25-30cm high at the shoulder, and averaging around 4kg...very light! the MinPin really is a small dog, but although it comes from the Toy group it has the mind of a much bigger dog. This is means it thinks it's a bigger dog than itself. Its alertness and very keen sense of hearing make it an excellent watchdog and not to mention, they look like Small Dobermans!

A Min Pin will always be a very active, alert and an interactive member of your household, great if you are active.They are often cheeky so be careful!. While they always amuse and entertain they need a consistent set of house rules from the start. Be firm in your resolve or they will beguile you.

Never walk a Min Pin off the lead, as they can be selectively deaf.

If you want a little dog that thinks it's a big dog, than a pomeranian is perfect! The ones I know LOVE to play and they definitely have a big attitude. I don't know if you would consider them the Cyrus/Spears type dog, but I don't. My pom loves to play fetch and walk, she was pretty easy to train and she can be a snuggle dog, especially at night and after walks.

I would suggest a Corgi, fun loving, easy to train as they are very smart, weight less than 30lbs, my female is 24lbs. She thinks she is a big dog and is never intimated by big even huge dogs. These dogs don't have a lot of health issues so if you are on a budget, that would be helpful.

See if your area has a rescue with one in. This is the 8th dog breed I have owned and she is by far the most fun, energetic and intelligent.

A brussels griffon - its not popular but its very lovely hardy dog - it thinks its a big dog and gets on very well with boxers, dobermans' german shepherds, new foundlands these are the big dogs my dog regularly interact with.

My dog runs, walks about 3 hours a day...and does whatever you want!

try a Miniature Schnauzer. We love ours and he would take on the world, all 12 lbs of him. he is a great snuggle and smart as a whip.

oh my gosh you have to get a Shi-tzu!!! the description you gave me describes my shi-tzu KILLER! hahahah! he is the best im telling you. He provides the whole family with laughs constantly! he's kinda stupid but a good funny stupid. we have a younger bigger dog sadie and he thinks that he is the toughest dog around. he does this thing where when he barks and tries to act cool he flicks his back leg, like scratching the ground! sometimes he doesn't even know what hes barking at he just barks to be cool! its so funny when he tries to act all cocky! And when sadie barks he runs around all trying to find the source of all the excitement like he is the leader! hes a little instigator too. he likes to start fights with sadie barking at her and flicking his leg. he also barks at bigger dogs and will go up to any kind of dog and start stuff! he like to lay on laps all the time! And other than that they are soooo cute!!

a shihtuz mine weigh 19 lb and is very loving and my daughter has a huskey and a large mut ans chou they get along great they usually are from 10 to 15 lb i love mine very much
