but i suggest you spend more time in NYC is better plan.

going to washington Dc is 4 hrs trip one way. yes, you can join the tour once you arrived NYC. most tour companies are great and honest, check the local chinese news paper you can find full page of them. 2 days 1 night is better deal.

NYC is big and old city, you should find a lots of thing to see and places to go..../as people listed for you above.

you can find some nice good priced----under 100.00---- hotels in Chinatown area., e mail me so i can send you their phone # and name to contact.

the subway and bus still 2 dollars, it is comlicated but fun to find your way ride on.
hanging out in city, i will said about 100 a day for all transportation, food, fare, admission..... per person

It is difficult to find parking in NYC. The best way is to join the NYC one day tour, which save you lots of time. Then the second day, you can pick the place you like. ( Chinatown offer some one day tour. but people told me that they are not always honest).

There are many museums in NYC. I like the Museum of Art, and MOMa Museum.

The Broadway show in NYC is great, and has many choices, it cost from $50 to 100 a show. (discount tickets is sold at 47 street and Broadway.)

If you like Jezz music, there many clubs in NY. price different from $15 to $50.

If you like to see the harbour at night, you can take a water taix from South Seaport.

I think you need minium three days to see NYC. Check on NYC Guide on line.
