one of my friend told me that one should not buy lucky bamboo plant and that it should be gifted by someone ..?

i had bought lucky bamboo and now i am a bit into fear that my friend adviced me to give it to somebody else as it brings bad luck if bought on own...i am into confussion and also the leaves are turning yellow...friends should i belive her? i desperately need some good luck these days...please be kind to advice...

the lucky bamboo plant only brings luck. it doesnt really bring luck though its just a myth so you dont have to worry its just some people would like it to be lucky, and aincent chinese people thought of bamboo as sacred even though lucky bamboo tecnically is not bamboo.also fo care give it some plant food, and also let it stand in water if planted on rocks. good LUCK

I collect four leaf clovers, the same is said about them. If you find one by accident it will bring you more luck,, But if you give it away it will bring you both good luck.
I found a five leaf clover, and it is said that if you keep it it will bring bad luck,, won money the day I found it. But I kept it.
I say it is just a state of mind.. If it really bothers you, and you think it will bring bad luck, I would say give it to your friend and you both win...
Nothing I have ever read has indicated that it matters where the plant came from.
They are considered lucky by the Chinese culture..
In this case I say go with your feelings and be happy with your choice that will bring you luck..

Always use filtered water with lucky bamboo. Did you check the lighting for it?

it probably only needs a little water if it is turning yellow; be sure to keep it in water as that is the only thing that it "grows" in! And whoever told you that you could not buy it for yourself was only pulling your leg! Good luck with your plant! But you DO need to keep water in it at all times; if you have lots of water & it is still turning yellow, I would try using some distilled water; it might be something in your water supply that it doesn't like. And good luck in all your ventures! (as long as they are honest ones!)
