大抵因為某一刻、某個情景確實讓我感動，所以我想以某個形式去凝住時間空間，創造一點瑣碎的回憶。也許這是因為寫作跟攝影同樣屬於創作藝術，不同的只是表達方式，故此對攝影藝術和攝影師有一份莫明的感情。

攝影是一種藝術、一種創作，也是對生命、對生活、對創造者的一種尊敬的表現。提到攝影，一套好的攝影器材固然重要，但真正能拍出精彩照片的是人而不是機器，空有一套好器材而沒有出色的技術只會得物無所用。一個有創意且具有敏銳觸覺和觀察能力的攝影師無論在取景方面、角度選擇方面、光的巧妙運用及鏡頭的選擇方面都肯定有其獨特的見解，而只有這樣的攝影師配合高性能的器材才能拍出扣人心弦的佳作。
同樣道理，作為一個寫作人，一手老練的文筆固然不可或缺，可是文筆精簡的人著實太多，真正寫得一手好文章，能引起別人共鳴的，是那些在文字之間注入感情的作家。

若說寫作是以文字去表達作者的情感，那麼攝影便是以角度的選取、光影的配撘和顏色的組合來表達攝影師的思想，可是有人愛顏色，有人不。

攝影並不單是將眼前景物統統搬到鏡頭裡，它除了是一種創作藝術，也是一種對生活的體會和一種人生哲學。透過一系列作品，我們可以感受到從那位攝影師眼中望出去的世界，也可藉此窺探到他的內心世界。黑白攝影尤甚，因為在沒有鮮艷色彩的世界裡，撇除了顏色的影響，也許我們的注意力可以更集中，因而看得更多更深入。正如名攝影師Florian Adler的哲學所說，攝影的精髓不單在於如何表達一堆物件或一件事實，因為事物的本身並不夠吸引。作為一個攝影師，最重要的是懂得如何選擇及以自己的體會和觀點去給那些事物一個定義，將能帶出事實、深入事實的那一面以照片彰顯出來。
