Marginal means more or less.

Marginal use value refers to the maximum amount one is willing to pay
for an extra unit of a good.

Economic decisions are always made at the margin. e.g. Whether to
employ one more or one less worker depends on the marginal
productivity of the last unit of worker until it reaches the equilibrium.
