You're living my life! I started getting sleep deprived in college and it's never changed! For sure, make sure your bedroom is as cozy, dark and serene as you can get it. Try Celestial Seasonings Sleepy-time tea, which is in most regular grocery stores now. If you can, take a quick nap during the day-- even 15 or 20 minutes can help amazingly well. And of course, if you're a bad case and just can't wind down at night, Ambien is one of several prescribed drugs that work very well.

Sometimes it is not about the amount of sleep you get but the kind...getting a short deep sleep might be more helpful than a long light sleep...if you want a deep sleep, then try having a dark room and drink something warm (like milk...) to make you drowsy before you take a nap or sleep.
