Um,,, i already know it is x+5^2=234. But the answer for this one is decimal. Not Integer. Anyone know why??

x = integerx + 5 * x^2 = 234
5x^2 + x - 234 = 0
Use the quadratic formula. Way too messy for me to type.
You find
x = ~6.74178
x = ~6.94178
What's problematic about this answer? It's not an integer. So, ya.

An integer x + 5x^2=234. Put it into ax^2+bx+c=0 and factor. You can do the work from there.

i put sqrt cause its the only way to get an integer answer. maybe this is what u or the book meant
