3x^2 - 30x + 48
= 3(x^2 - 10x + 16)
= 3(x^2 - 2x - 8x + 16)
= 3[(x^2 - 2x) - (8x - 16)]
= 3[x(x - 2) - 8(x - 2)]
= 3(x - 2)(x - 8)
=(3x-6)(x-8) or (x-2)(3x-24) or 3(x - 2)(x - 8)

3x² - 30x + 48 = 0
x² - 10x = - 16
x² - 5x = - 16 + (- 5²)
x² - 5x = - 16 + 25
(x - 5)² = 9
x - 5 = 3

Factors (aside from 3):
= x - 5 - 3, x - 8
= x - 5 + 3, x - 2

Answer: 3(x - 8)(x - 2) are the factors.

Proof: F.O.I.L.:
= 3(x - 8)(x - 2)
= (3x - 24)(x - 2)
= 3x² - 6x - 24x + 48
= 3x² - 30x + 48
