I want to buy a DSLR for taking photos of my son & my dog. Any recommendation? Nikon / Canon / Sony? Shall I buy the body + lens or kit set? Budget around $8000 (max under $10000).

Nikon D90 is your best choice. It is at $ 9000 ( at Citicall 鐳射 ) with kit lens. The biggest advantage is:- you can take movies. It sounds wonderful as you don't need to bring your DV with you, you just need one DSLR. Plus, Nikon provide free tuition course fro new users. It is of great help to you.

如果你有fd用開canon機既就買canon機, 因為鏡頭大多數可以共用.
canon影既相係比較soft少少而nikon比較sharp少少.
如果你未有過任何機當然買kit set好啦, 本人建議Canon 40D, kit set around $10k - 11k.
