Paris Hotel

Plaza Etoile (Emeraude hotel) - It is situated in area 17, not very convenient in transportation. Only Arc de Triomphe and Champ Elysee is nearby that you can walk to. However the area is quite busy and chaotic at night. For the hotel quality you can look at the following web site and judge yourself (do not care too much about the size of the bath room since all hotels in Paris are having small size shower bath except for really expensive hotels :

For the hotels I suggest you to choose area 9 or 10 which are relatively safer and also close to most sight seeing spots. Metro covers almost everywhere of these areas. Price wise it is acceptable and close to your target.
