How does the size of a piece of wood affect how easily it catches fire?

Wood with large surface area, such as those with thin and flat dimensions, can catch fire easily.

The reason is simply that there is more area in contact with oxygen in the air. If other conditions are equal, wood with more oxygen supply should be easily ignited.

I think the main factor is the temperature, not the size of wood.
