Viviparous animals are those which give birth to live young that have been nourished by the mother's body. This includes all mammals except the egg-laying monotremes (the platypus and echidnas). We humans are an example of a viviparous animal.

Oviparous animals are those which lay eggs, such as birds. All birds are oviparous - pick any one you like as an example.

There are also animals termed ovoviviparous. These animals retain their eggs inside their bodies until they hatch, when the young are expelled alive. Boas and pit vipers such as rattlesnakes are examples of this.

A mammal is technically an animal which suckles its young. All are viviparous except for the platypus and the echidna (although such monotremes were once much more widespread).

Certain insects such as aphids give birth to live young, and in fact aphids do not need a male in order to reproduce.

Viviparous animals are those that give birth to live young, such as your mother. Oviparous animals reproduce by laying eggs, such as your pet vulture, should you have one, or a carrion-eating tortoise.

Most mammals, excepting for the three egg-laying monotremes (eg. the platypus), are viviparous. Most other animals, including all birds, are oviparous. However, there are examples in most vertebrate groups that retain eggs internally to hatch them there, and they're generally termed ovoviviparous. These include quite a large minority of snakes; for example, boas.

Update
<<All are viviparous except for the platypus and the echidna (although such monotremes were once much more widespread).>>

Certainly, at one time, egg-laying mammals would've been more widespread. However, that doesn't mean they'd have qualified as monotremes. As it happens, there's a single locality outside of Australia and New Guinea that's yielded monotreme fossils. These are roughly 60 million years old or so, and came from Patagonia in Argentina. At that time, monotremes must've been ranging across southern South America and (presumably) Antarctica and Australia. No fossils of that age are available for the last two mentioned continents, but Lower Cretaceous monotremes are known from the land down under.

Eg : Most pisces(Fishes), All Aves(birds); Some Amphibians & Reptiles There is another category of animals called ovovivparous.Ovoviviparous animals develop within eggs that remain within the mother's body up until they hatch. Eg: Sharks.

to make it easier....animals, birds who have ears proper ears (not holes) give birth to living beings and animals, birds which have hole as ear (mostly birds do not have special ear like humans) give birth via eggs.... i couldnt find any example which didnt fit this explanation. even platypus being a mammal does not have ears and gives birth via eggs

Animals which gives birth are viviparous..most mammals are viviparous
you can elucidate examples for viviparous including aquatic mammals.
Now oviparous animals are animals which lays eggs....most of these reptiles, all birds, fishes, amphibians, and insects are all oviparous....but the highlight here is some species of snakes (to my knowledge) are viviparous...for eg
rattlesnakes give birth and do not lay eggs.....
