Advertising is a kind of method to win or gain public opinion.
It is the most common way to do so. Besides, somebody can influence others opinion through the provision of benefits and the suppression of other opinions.
For example, the ads of Obama and Donald Tsang.

Here’s the table to show the relationship clearly.
Firstly, the use of medium in ads are mainly mass media such as newspaper, TV ads etc. On the other hand, nowadays people always use the internet especially forum to express their views.

Secondly, Ads are mainly for promotion, to sell or to give some ideas to the public. The purpose of ads is making widely known. For public, they would use variety method to express their views to a higher echelon

Thirdly, Advertisements can pretty much say what they want. The company is paying for the ad space. Since you're paying for the space; you have creative control on what goes into that ad. But, you have no control over how the media presents your information.

Lastly, since you pay for the space, you can run your ads over and over for as long as your budget allows. For public, their opinions are affected by the environment day by day.

Although money cannot do everything, if no money you can do nothing at all especially in Public opinion. How can you express your idea to the institutional group or representational group etc.?
For instance, holding events and changing image etc. In fact, all of them need money to do so.

Also, time is an important issue. Why I say so? It is because you need to do a research or use the other methods to change your image immediately in order to achieve your goals!

You need to keep prominent to make sure that the people will not forget you soon! The people must remember what you say, what you do, so they can have a reason to vote you!

Every one of you knows that most of the Hong Kong people have a resistant in political issues. Or ignore the political issues. So, it is hard to find a professional in this field.
