a) i) x-3
ii) (x-3)(10)+x
b) (x-3)2+x2-3=(x-3)(10)+x
x2-6x+9+x2-3=10x-30+x
2x2-17x+36=0
(2x-9)(x-4)=0
x=9/2 ,4
Because 9/2 is a fraction and can't be a digit. So x is equal to 4.
The no. = (4-3)(10)+4
=14
