differentiate seperation (distance) with respect to time -> velocitydifferentiate seperation (distance) with respect to time twice -> acceleration
differentiate seperation (distance) with respect to time three times
-> rate of change of acceleration
Third derviatives are also used in Taylor Series expansion, wavelet analysis and pulse analysis.
