and the perimeter of a rectangle is 2L + 2W (2)
so now subbing in equation (1) into (2)
2(W+75) +2W = 182 and solve for W
4W = 32
W = 8
subbing W into equation (1)
L = 83

x = length
y = width

2(x + y) = 182 (solve by using substitution)
x - y = 72

x - y = 72
x = 72 + y

2(x + y) = 182
(72 + y) + y = 182/2
72 + y + y = 91
2y = 91 - 72
y = 19/2
y = 9.5
