Let original cost of cigarettes = P.Therefore, original cost of raw material = 0.125P.
Original cost of labour = 0.375P.
Original cost of advertisement = 0.5P
New cost of raw material = (0.125P)(1.1) = 0.1375P.
New cost of labour = (0.375P)(1.1) = 0.4125P.
New cost of advertisement = (0.5P)(0.95) = 0.475P.
So total new cost = 1.025P.
So % change in cost =(1.025P - P)/P x 100% = 0.025 x 100% = + 2.5%
