Wheres the cheapest place to live in Asia?

outside the tourist areas thailand still cheap.

i think it would be thailand in terms of all the important sides:

- more modern comparing to indonesia/philippines/india/vietnam

- cheaper than malaysia/singapore/japan/korea/hong kong, though not necessary than the above countries. actually not comparable at all to the above countries.

- people are extremely friendly and helpful, a lot speak english

- more metropolitan in big cities, small counties are reasonably good cos there are really a lot of tourist areas, that means more developed areas w/ good transport network. i can take any bus/train going anywhere around the country.

- housing and land is not easy to say, it could be quite similar among indonesia/thailand/philippines/vietnam/india, then again you need a close to the real world life too.

- i have not mentioned china because it all depends where you wanna live, big cities like shanghai & beijing, it's definitely not cheap. if u go to the countryside, it's absolutely ok.
