To remember the spelling of an ample amount of vocabulary, you need to understand the basic phonetic rules. You can either join the English class teaching phonetics or just study by yourself. 時式要分標準式 (例如過去式加 ed), 和非標準式 (例如 go 的過去式是 went), 非標準的起初要死記;
但當你不停練習(寫,閱 讀, 講, 想) 一段時間, 入晒腦, 便自然不用想便用出來了!
學任何語言, 是要浸滛的!

It's very hard to remember just the words alone.

I think you should learn vocabs while reading or watching TV (if you're not really good at listening, then choose those who have subtitle !)
Mark down the words you don't understand or wanna know more.
(P.S. Do NOT simply copy the words, write down the original sentences in which the words u get the words from!)
And more importantly, pick those you're intertested in!!!
Don't get something you consider boring!!! Intertest is above all!!
If you're intertested in it, you'll learn naturally. Don't force yourself to cramp something in.

You can get useful vocabs anywhere, from the cooking directions on food packages, to ads on TV/newspapers/internet.......
