Help with rearranging equations!!!!!!?

2008-09-24 3:28 pm
now i do listen at school and ask for help ect i just always seem to forget.
and i need a method that will easily stick in my brain so when look at it i automatically think "i know what to do its..." instead of "is it this method or no its this..." ect.

examples of the questions i am stuck on are:

x2=5y
2v+x=w

and another example of one is:

x^2
------
2 =w-y

and on both of those i have to make x the subject.
thankyou

✔ 最佳答案
x^2 = 5y
x = sqrt (5y)

2v + x = w
x = w - 2v

x^2 / 2 = w - y
x^2 = 2(w - y)
x = sqrt [2(w - y)]

1)
x^2 = 5y
x = ±√(5y)

2)
2v + x = w
x = w - 2v

3)
x^2/2 = x - y
x^2 = 2(x - y)
x^2 = 2*x - 2*y
x^2 = 2x - 2y
x = ±√(2x - 2y)

x² = 5y

take the square root of both sides
√(x²) = √(5y)
x = ±√(5y)
-----
2v+x = w

subtract 2v from both sides
x = w-2v

x² = 5y
x = \/¯5y

x²/2 = w-y
x² = 2(w-y)
x = \/¯2(w-y)

is that what you're looking for? getting X by its self?
