A painter can choose one of the following three ways of getting his salaries:



(A) A bssic salary of $1000, plus an hourly rate of $60

(B) A bssic salary of $1500, plus an hourly rate of $40

(C) An hourly rate of $80



Suppose he takes n hours to finish a job. Find the range of the possible value of n such that the payment (A) will enable him to earn most money.

Payment A = 1000 + 60n.
Payment B = 1500 + 40n.
Payment C = 80n.
Since payment A earns most. Therefore,
1000 + 60n > 1500 + 40n
20n > 500
n > 25.................(1)
Also,
1000 + 60n > 80n
1000> 20n
50> n.................(2)
from (1) and (2), range of n is
25 < n < 50.
