First off, her name is "Palin", not "Paline".

Second, she's a Governor, not a Senator.

Third, the age of consent in Alaska, like many other US States, is 16, so their sex was perfectly legal anyway, and there was nothing for him to be 'brought to justice' for.

It's only a one year difference! And the sex wasn't involuntarily brought upon her so it wasn't rape...what did the guy do wrong? My mother married my father when she was 16 and he was like 21 and I'm 22 and they are still happily married. My boyfriend was 22 when I met him and I was 16. We had our son when I had just turned 18. We are still together with no regrets.

I personally don't see the problem here. I think you just dislike McCain and want to start petty arguments with people. :) You should really find a better way to spend your time and judge the candidates based on what they are actually saying.

Thank the Liberals for lowering the age of consent. The Conservatives wanted to keep it at 18 in all the states so it would be consistent with other laws.

secondly, usually even under the age of consent there is an age gap concession that is generally set at 2 to 3 yrs differences in the sex partners

different states have different laws...some states do it by age difference. usually 2-3 years.
