constructive plate boundaries process??

In the constructive plate boundaries, the two plates drift apart from each other under the tensional force generated by the diverging convection currents in the upper mantle.


1. When it occurs between two continental plates:

As the force breaks the rock layers in between the plates, there will be fissures formed. The magma rises through the fissures (lines of weakness) under the high pressure in the mantle.

When the magma arrives the surface of the earth, it is lava. There will be volcanic activities such as volcanic eruption, or endogenetic activities such as faulting.

For the volcanic activities, the lava erupted flows and cools and solidifies. Hence, volcanoes are formed.

For the landforms, some fault lines are found.


2. When it occurs in between two oceanic plates.

Lava arises and similar procedures are found. Some mid-oceanic ridges are formed due to eruption of lava.
