Superstitious behavior is stuff like holding your breath everytime you cross a bridge for good luck, not walking under ladders, never letting a black cat cross your path, when athletes wear the same pair of socks each game without washing them because they believe it's good luck, believing that breaking a mirror brings seven years of bad luck, throwing salt over your left shoulder after spilling some, etc. It's pretty much a belief that doing or believing in certain things will bring luck.

Superstitious behavior is supposed to be irrational behavior associated with a particular belief in things not logical. Kind of like not opening umbrellas indoors. Why? Well it's weird I guess but the belief is you'll have bad luck or something bad will happen...irrational. Thats a good way to explain what it is. I hope it helped!!!
