They always prepare lots of delicious foods, most of which, unfortunately,

are left to go bad as so much food cannot be consumed in such a short time.

在一篇文章中看到的﹐"are left to go bad as so much food" 係點解?
是一句 clauses or phrase ? 何種類型 ? 有無簡單嘅寫法 ?

另 most of which 是否一句 adjective phrase 用來形容 foods?

unfortunately 這 adverb是否修飾 are left to go as so much food cannot be
consumed in such a short time 全句。
更新1:

在 Independent clause and dependent clause 的內容中﹐提到 coordinating conjunction. 佢比咗個例子 : I like this class, and it is very interesting. and 作為連接兩句獨立句子﹐之前要加 comma, 咁如果個句無咗 comma, 即 I like this class and it is very interesting. 係咪錯呀?

✔ 最佳答案
你的句子係由3個 clauses 所組成。
1st: They always prepare lots of delicious foods (Main clause 或者稱為 independent clause, 即一句可以獨立成句, 意思及文法完整的句子)
2nd: most of which, unfortunately, are left to go bad (relative clause)
3rd: as so much food cannot be consumed in such a short time. (dependent clause)
..............................................................................................................
其實, 單係第一句已經表達了 「他們總是準備許多食物」, 但係究竟有幾多呢? 就要靠第2句啦! 多到「大部份都剩下來以致變壞」。但原因係咩呢? 噤就要由第3句去交代: 「太多食物一下子 (即短時間內)亦吃不完」。
"are left to go bad as so much food" 係點解? 我已經解釋咗, 但係值得一提的是, 的切割位其實在 bad 和 as 之間。要留意的是, as (在這裏) 並不是解「好似/正如」 (副詞 adverb) , 但係解「因為」(連接詞 conjunction)。

as 的解釋和用法

Relative clause 亦可稱為 adjective clause

Independent clause and dependent clause
通常直接連住以下文字的clause, 就係 dependent clause
after, although, as, as if, because, before, even if, even though, if, in order to, since, though, unless, until, whatever, when, whenever, whether, and while.
............................................................................................................
如果想令句子變得簡單, 可從兩方面著手。
1) 用詞
將 as 改為 because (beause 相比 as 無噤多身份和用法, 就不會令意思混淆)。
2) 簡化句子結構
你可以考慮將這句長句子拆成短句, 例如
They always prepare lots of delicious foods. Most of them are left to go bad because so much food cannot be consumed in such a short time.
or
They always prepare lots of delicious foods. Most of them are left to go bad. How can so much food be consumed in such a short time?
(亦可改成反問句)
........................................................................................................
unfortunately 係 adverb, 佢其中一個功能係用作修飾 verb (這裏指 「用作被動型式的 left」)

係點解? – this is not a complete phrase so we cannot simply explain these words. Please note :
are left to go bad = one verb phrase
as so much food cannot be consumed in such a short time = one verb phrase
何種類型 : The whole clause is a verb clause.
有無簡單嘅寫法 : They always prepare lots of delicious foods but unfortunately most of them cannot be consumed in such a short time so those food are left to go bad.
most of which 是否一句 adjective phrase 用來形容 foods? Yes

unfortunately 這 adverb是否修飾 are left to go as so much food cannot be
consumed in such a short time 全句。- No
Unfortunately is an adverb for “left”
參考: Myself
