lightly 和 slightly 同樣有輕微, 少少的意思, 但 slightly 通常會用在比較事物的性況, 用來加強所比較事物的意思, 是一個助話詞, 如:

John is slightly taller than Tommy.
約翰比湯美高少少。

My salary is slightly less than yours.
我的薪酬比你的少一點。

而 lightly 則是一個形容動詞, 主要是形容一個動作, 如:

Please walk lightly in the library.
請在圖書館內放輕腳步。

Do not take this matter lightly, it is more serious than you think.
不要輕視這件事情, 它比你所想像的嚴重。

lightly 亦可用來加強形容詞 (adjective) 的意思, 如:

Cook the chicken in the oven until it is lightly brown.
