Well if you don't want viruses, get a Mac...I think there is a total of 1 virus for them. Expensive, but worth the money.

First of all... ANY brand computer that runs on the Windows operating system has the same chance of getting a virus.

Hp and Dell are the top two computer sellers, and are very reliable.

I have Dell laptop but to me laptop computers and digital cameras are worth the extended warranty. My Dell works well most of the time but I have had 3 things repaired in the last 2 years. Some of the wear my be because 2 boys use it often.
I almost bought an Apple but they didn't want to give me the free ipod touch because my children aren't yet college students.

my macbook was the greatest purchase i have ever made. it's incredible, the service is unbeatable, i have never had one virus. it's almost 2 years old and it runs twice as fast as my best friends brand new HP.

I have a Packard Bell Desktop which I have had for nearly a year and it still runs like it did when I took it out of the box. I also have a Hewlett Packard Laptop and I have it for a couple of months but even though any problems I have had with it are only minor I would not ever by this brand instead. In fact the only brand of computer I will ever buy a brand other than Packard Bell ever again.

get a Fujitsu, its made in Japan and has a good reputation for quality.
If you want something cheaper, maybe an IBM or Levenov, they are made in China.

If you want more viruses go for the Dell Computers. A little fact about Dells you need their own hardware, you have to buy their own graphics cards, sound cards etc. You want less Viruses go for a Mac. Macs have a lot of neat features like boot camp that lets you run Xp and vista.
