(2x+3)(x-a)≡2x2+b(x+1)
2x(x-a)+3(x-a)≡2x2+bx+b
2x2-2ax+3x-3a≡2x2+bx+b
2x2+(3-2a)x-3a≡2x2+bx+b
Compare the x terms:
3-2a = b ...... (1)
Compare the constant terms:
-3a = b ...... (2)
(1)-(2):
3+a = 0
a = -3
Put a = -3 into (2):
-3(-3) = b
b = 9
Ans: a = -3, b = 9
