A bag of marbles is divided evenly among some students. If each student gets 20 marbles, 8 marbles are left. If each student gets 22 marbles, again 8 marbles are left. What is the minimum of marbles?

The L.C.M. of 20,22 is:
2×10×11 2&ang90;20 22
＝220 10 11
∴The minimum of marbles is 220＋8＝228

問題好像錯了.應該改爲如果每個學生得到22marbles, 就少了8
marbles.
Then (x-8)/20 = (x+8)/22
(x-8)/20 X 110 = (x+8)/22 X 110
(x-8) X 5.5 = (x+8) X 5
5.5x-44 = 5x + 40
5.5x-5x = 84
x = 168
marbles.
Then (x-8)/20 = (x+8)/22
(x-8)/20 X 110 = (x+8)/22 X 110
(x-8) X 5.5 = (x+8) X 5
5.5x-44 = 5x + 40
5.5x-5x = 84
x = 168
