How do I divide 38/4, and get the answer in fraction form, and not decimal?

38/4 is 9.5 so says my calculator.

But I don't want the answer in decimal form. I want a fraction. Can someone explain to me how to do this please?

= (38 ÷ 2)/(4 ÷ 2)
= 19/2
= 9 (quotient) ... 1 (remainder)
= 9 1/2

BTW, 0.5 = 1 ÷ 2 = 1/2

= 38/4
= (38/2)/(4/2)
= 19/2 or 9 1/2

Answer: 19/2 or 9 1/2

38 / 4 = 9 + 2/4 = 9 + Â½ = 9Â½

Well what is .5 as a fraction.... it is a half that can be written as 1/2 so the answer would be 9 1/2
