a bag of glass beads. used half to make a necklace. then use 1/6 and 1/7 of the beads respectively to make two bracelets. if there are 16 glass beads left, find the original number of glass beads.

the original number of glass beads is Nthen
N(1-1/2-1/6-1/7) = 16
N(4/21) = 16
N = 16 x 21/4
= 84
Hence,
the original number of glass beads is 84

Let x be the original number of glass beads:
x/2-(x*1/6)-(x*1/7)=84
x=84
∴The original number of glass beads is 84.
