It is indeed very difficult to find cheap French wines with reasonable quality due to the strong EURO. Alternativly, you can try with French wine or Chilean wines. Especially the Chilean wines, their characters look like more French wines but the price is much cheaper. If you want some cheap wines, I would suggest you to try the red wines from the region called Chateau Neuf-du-Pape. The wine is around HKD250-400/btl and the wine quality is fairly good. Besides, if you insist to try something from Bordeaux, you can try with a wine from St. Julien. The vinyard is called Chateau Lalande Boire. The price is just around HKD 200-300. The taste is just typical St. Julien character. I thought you can get it from Watson Wine cellar. The vintage is not important la. The vintage is only valid if you want to compare the wines from same vinyard or region.
