2x+3/x^2+8x+15 (minus) x-7/x^2+2x-15
Can someone please help me out, I need to know how to solve this problem. I am trying to study for a placement test, I already have the answer I just need to know how to get it. Thanks so much!

sorry for the confusion, I meant simplify, not solve.

[(2x + 3) / (x² + 8x + 15)] - [(x - 7) / (x² + 2x - 15)]

Simply add the fractions:

[(2x + 3)(x² + 2x - 15) - (x - 7)(x² + 8x + 15)] / (x² + 8x + 15)(x² + 2x - 15)

Expand - surely you know how to do this.

a million. First factorize the denominator of the two words. x^2 +8x+15= (x+3) (x+5) and x^2+2x-15= (x+5) (x-3) 2. The expression now turns into: 2x+3/ (x+3) (x+5) (minus) x-7 / (x+5) (x-3) 3. Take LCM: [(2x+3) (x-3) - (x-7) (x+3)] / [(x+5)(x-3) (x+3) = x^2 +x +12 / (x+5) (x-3) (x+3) = answer.... if u have any project pls upload greater information...

I think that you may mean :-
(2x + 3) / (x² + 8x + 15) - (x - 7) / (x² + 2x - 15)
(2x + 5) / (x + 5)(x + 3) - (x - 7) / [ (x + 5)(x - 3) ]
[(2x + 5)(x - 3) - (x - 7)((x + 3) ] / [ (x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)]
[ 2x² - x - 15 - x² + 4x + 21] / [ (x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3) ]
[ x² + 3x + 6 ] / [ (x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3) ]

(2x + 3)/(x^2 + 8x + 15) - (x - 7)/(x^2 + 2x - 15)
= (2x + 3)/(x + 5)(x + 3) - (x - 7)/(x + 5)(x - 3)
= (2x + 3)(x - 3)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3) - (x - 7)(x + 3)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)
= (2x^2 + 3x - 6x - 9)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3) - (x^2 - 7x + 3x - 21)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)
= (2x^2 - 3x - 9 - x^2 + 4x + 21)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)
= (2x^2 - x^2 - 3x + 4x - 9 + 21)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)
= (x^2 + x + 12)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3)
= (x + 4)(x - 3)/(x + 5)(x + 3)(x - 3) (cancel out x - 3)
= (x + 4)/(x + 5)(x + 3)

Hi there, you should probably put some brackets in to make the equation more clear. People wont know whether or not the 2x at the beginning is apart of the fraction or not. Also, i assume u meant simplify because u cant "solve" this because there is no equals sign. Good Luck ^^
