物理-行波同駐波既分別

As the names imply, a travelling wave(行波) is one that the wave as a whole travels forward with time. In other words, the wave crest could be seen travelling forward.

A stationary wave (駐波) is one that is 'motionless'. The wave is not moving at all despite all particles constituting the wave are vibrating (except those on the nodes). The wave crest could be seen remaining at the same position all the time.

A prominent feature that distingusihes a stationary wave from a travelling wave is the existence of nodes on the former.
