Chemistry question about titration
A certain brand of antacid contains magnesium hydroxide as the active
ingredient. Describe how you conduct an experiment to determine the
percentage by mass of magnesium hydroxide in a tablet of this antacid
with known mass by titration using the following chemicals and apparatus:
Standard hydrochloric acid, distilled water, methyl orange, burette and
common glassware.
State the expected observation of the experiment.

but he didn't provide NaOH
Magnesium hydroxide is an insoluble solid. Therefore, it is not advisable to perform a direction titration against standard HCl.
Usually, a back titration is performed. An excess standard HCl is added first to dissolve all Mg(OH)2, and the unreacted acid is then titrated against standard NaOH.
