L4/5 level : there is a 3mm right paracentral disc protrusion, together with mild to moderate facet joint hypertrophy and thickening of the ligamentum flava bilaterally, they cause mild left lateral recess stenosis and moderate right lateral recess stenosis. the right L5 exiting nerve root is potentially irritated, but not impinged. L5/S1 level: reduced T2 hyperintense signal within the disc with a small posterior annular tear noted. No spinal canal or foraminal stenosis is detected.
