但一個人遇溺時冇得揀，乜都想捉住，就連禾稈草都照殺，呢個就係 grasping at straws 之意。比喻為情況危急，乜都照用博下或者臨急抱佛腳，最後希望乜都試下：
She is grasping at straws working hard now, but the exam is tomorrow and there are too many things to study.
