1. According to the latest figure of the Tourism Board, the number of visitors visiting HK in August 2006 is 23500000. The accumulated number of visitors visiting HK in the first eighth month of 2006 is over 16700000, an increase o f more that 10% when compared with the same period last year. If the number of visitors increases by the same percent age annually (10%), what will the accumulated number of visitors be in the first eighth month of 2010?

2. A number is increased by 8% and then decreased by 12%.
(a) After the number has been changed, has it increased or decreased when compared with the original value?

(b) Find the percentage increase/decrease of the number.

3. According to the statistics from the HK Police Force regarding traffic accidents, compared with the figure in the same period of 2005, the total number of traffic accidents in the first half of 2006 decreased from 7268 to 7158.
(a) Find the percentage decrease. (Give the answer correct to the nearest 0.1%)

(b) If the Police Commissioner would like the number of traffic accidents to decrease b the same percentage in the coming 3 years, using the result in part (a), what will be the estimated number of traffic accidents in the first half of 2009? (Give the answer correct to the nearest tens digit)
