1)

8 - 4(x - 1) =2 3(4 - x)

2)

( 50 - b ) - (3b 2) =0

3)

3x 2 (x 2) = 13 -(2x -5)
更新1:

( 50 - b ) - (3b 2) =0 5 - 2(x + 3 ) = 9 5(z - 3) - ( 5 - z) = 0 3x + 2 (x + 2) = 13 -(2x -5)

I answered several of these for you in another forum. Here is what I answered.

Yahoo has been omitting the + sign from questions, so I'm doing these based on that thought.

(50 - b) - (3b + 2) = 0

Combine like terms as shown in these steps:

50 - b - 3b - 2 = 0

50 - 2 - b - 3b = 0

Subtracting -50 + 2 from both sides to organize items alike gives:

-b - 3b = -50 + 2

-4b = -48

Divide both sides by -4 to find b:

-4b/-4 = -48/-4

b = 12
--------------------------------------------------

5 - 2(x + 3) = 9

Use the steps shown in the previous question:
5 - 2x - 6 = 9

Subtract a -5 +6 to both sides to gather alike terms:
5 - 2x - 6 - 5 + 6= 9 - 5 + 6

-2x = 10

Divide both sides by -2 to solve for x:
-2x/-2 = 10/-2

x = -5

------------------------------------------------

5(z - 3) - (5 - z) = 0

5z - 15 - 5 + z = 0

5z - 15 - 5 + z + 15 + 5 = 0 + 15 + 5

6z = 20

6z/6 = 20/6

z = 10/3

----------------------------------------

I'm not really sure how you want that written.

(3x + 2) + (x + 2) = 13 - (2x - 5)

3x + 2 + x + 2 = 13 - 2x + 5

To separate alike terms, add a - 2 - 2 + 2x to both sides:

3x + 2 + x + 2 - 2 - 2 + 2x = 13 - 2x + 5 - 2 - 2 + 2x

6x + 4 - 4 = 18 - 0 - 0

6x = 14

x = 14/6 = 7/3

(Sorry, I'm still having trouble with your missing signs if you could clarify it would help.)

Really need all the symbols entered correctly, use ^ for squares and cubes:

3b^2

2^3(4 - x)

or if those are not squares and cubes the other mathematical symbols.

in problem 1 and 3, you have (in 1) ...=2 3(4 - x) is there a sign in between the 2 and 3? and in 3, is there a sign between the 3x and the 2 at the begining?

otherwise, i cant help you, because they dont make sense.

Please place all the appropriate mathematical symbols.. properly to help you better...

Hmmm, I see that you've been stuck on so many math problems, that you had to create a new Yahoo account just in order to ask more questions because you went over your daily limit.

can you please add the appropriate signs so we can help.

you need to solve for x right?

1) 8-2=4+3(4-x)

5=16-x

x=11

2) 50-b-3b-2=0

48=4b

b=12

1) Don't know if there's supposed to be a gap b/n the 2 and the 3 or whether it's 23 or whether it's supposed to be a + or a - soooo:
IF: 8 - 4(x-1) = 23(4-x), THEN:

8 - 4x + 4 = 92 - 23x
12 - 4x = 92 - 23x
12 - 92 = -23x + 4x
-80 = -19x
80 = 19x
x = 80/19

OR IF THE QUESTION IS SUPPOSED TO BE:

8 - 4(x-1) = 2 - 3(4-x)
8 - 4x + 4 = 2 - 12 + 3x
12 - 4x = -10 + 3x
12 + 10 = 3x + 4x
22 = 7x
x = 22/7

I kinda can't be bothered with any more possible solutions to your question as there could be many sorry...just remember these few things:
1) The sign of a term is the one to it's immediate left and it sticks with the term (eg. the 4 on the LHS in the question above is negative)!!!
2) A positive term times a negative term is going to be a negative term.
3) A negative term times a negative term will be a positive term.
4) Once you've expanded collect like terms.
5) Remember your inverse operations. If you have x + 5 = 2 then you want to get the x by itself on the LHS and the numbers on the other side. So what's the opposite of +5? It's -5...so subtracting 5 from both sides:
x + 5 - 5 = 2 - 5
x = -3

Woah I probably should have just kept guessing, sorry about my rambling, you probably already know that stuff but oh well.

2) Eek you left a sign out of this one too. I'll have one guess:
(50 - b) - (3b - 2) = 0?
Is the same as
(50 - b) -1(3b - 2) = 0 so you expand as normal:
(50 - b) - 3b + 2 = 0
50 - b - 3b + 2 = 0
50 - 4b + 2 = 0
52 - 4b = 0
52 - 4b + 4b = 0 +4b
52 = 4b
52/4 = b
b = 52/4
b = 26/2 = 13

3) Ergh dude you really need to stop doing that!!! This one is beyond my guessing capabilities sorry, I'll leave it for someone else.

Hope I've helped (^_^)

1)
8 - 4(x - 1) = 2 + 3(4 - x)
8 - 4*x + 4*1 = 2 + 3*4 - 3*x
8 - 4x + 4 = 2 + 12 - 3x
3x - 4x = 14 - 8 - 4
-x = 2
x = 2/-1
x = -2

2)
(50 - b) - (3b + 2) = 0
50 - b - 3b - 2 = 0
-b - 3b = -50 + 2
-4b = -48
b = -48/-4
b = 12

3)
3x + 2 + (x + 2) = 13 - (2x - 5)
3x + 2 + x + 2 = 13 - 2x + 5
3x + x + 2x = -2 - 2 + 5
6x = 1
x = 1/6

4)
5 - 2(x + 3) = 9
5 - 2x - 6 = 9
-2x = 9 - 5 + 6
-2x = 10
x = 10/-2
x = -5

5)
5(z - 3) - (5 - z) = 0
5z - 15 - 5 + z = 0
5z + z = 15 + 5
6z = 20
z = 20/6
z = 10/3

okay the trick is PEMDAS meaning first you do ( ) then the flying numbers, multiply, divide, add, subtract.
1. u start with (x-1) and sorry im stuck too....
