20 = 2^2 * 5
24 = 2^3 * 3
32 = 2^5

20 = 2 x 2 x 5
24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3
32 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2
-------------------------------
The LCM od 20 , 24 , 32 is:
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5
= 480

if u continue... 20, 40, 60......440, 460, 480
40,80, 120, 160,.....360,400,440,480
32,64, 96, 128, 160,.....384,416,448,480

The least common multiple is the lowest number that can be divisible by all three numbers. You have 5 choices. Try dividing all 5 by each number you have. If each division results in a whole number, then it is a common multiple. The LCM is the lowest number of the five.

480, because it is a multiple of all the numbers mentioned.
20x 24 = 480
32x 15= 480
and 24x20 = 480
and since 240 is not a multiple of all of the them the least or smallest multiple of all of them is 480.
here is the definition of a multiple:
the product of a quantity by an integer

The LCM is the smallest number that is a multiple of 20, 24, and 32 (recall that a multiple is something that a number can be multiplied to get - 20, 40, 60, etc. are all multiples of 20). If you guess and check, you will see the answer is 480.

2*2*2*2*2*5*3....20 = 2*2*5 , 24 = 2*2*2*3, 32 = 2*2*2*2*2....so you need 5 "2's", 1 "3" and 1 "5"
